| FEP stands for FIRST ENGINEERED Production.
FEP's are models that a manufacture will produce as sort of a tester model
to see what the casting will look like and check the fits of the
components on the cars. A lot of times the advertising pictures are of
FEP's or Proto-type models.
FEP's are produced first prior to the final approved production models and are not usually available for sale to the public or for sale at all. In the the case of the Muscle Machines FEP's, these models were not supposed to be shipped to the big retail stores but some of the 5 pack versions were available through Full Grid diecast sales (the distributor) on a very limited basis. After that some were shipped to Target Stores by mistake and so they became available to the public still on a limited basis through these sources. There were also some FEP models (the same cars included in the 5 pack) packaged in individual blisterpacks and shipped to Canada. According to reliable sources there were 800 cars available in the bp's which is a very limited amount of cars. Thus these bp cars are probably the most rare and sought after Muscle Machines products produced. Below are some pictures of the FEP's in the 5 packs and also pictures of a set of the blisterpack models. Compared to the regular production models some of the differences are;
